CLUB // HERO pH solution - 400 ml.
Do you have dry, sensitive or irritated skin?Ordo you know that feeling of your skin feeling a bit tight when you step out of the bath? You’re not alone. The cause may lie in something as simple as your bath, washing your hands, cleansing your face or using hand sanitiser. Water throws your skin’s pH balance off kilter, leaving it vulnerable to dryness, irritation and itching.
HERO is a clear, serum-like liquid that stabilises the pH level. When the pH level is balanced, your skin is balanced.
HERO is your step 0:Useas the first product after a bath, washing your hands or cleansing your face, and as needed throughout the day.
Daily use will effectively help prevent moisture loss, skin sensitivity, dryness and damage from environmental factors, whilst HERO strengthens the skin’s natural ability to renew and regenerate. HERO helps create the best conditions for the skin’s healing process on the body, face and scalp.
One HERO fits all– for the whole family.

Why is the skin’s pH level important?
The skin’s pH level is essential for the skin to remain healthy. When the pH level is slightly acidic, around 5, the skin is in balance. When the skin comes into contact with water, soap, cleaning products, hand sanitiser, etc., the pH level shifts towards the alkaline side.
On the very surface of the skin lies an ultra-thin, protective layer called the acid mantle – this is the skin’s immune defence. The acid mantle protects the skin against irritation and drying out. And as the name suggests, the acid mantle is naturally acidic. So, when the acid mantle is shifted towards an alkaline state by water or other factors, it becomes unbalanced.
HERO restores the skin’s pH to its optimal level of around 5 when it has shifted towards an alkaline state. In this way, the acid mantle is restored and the skin is brought back into balance.

Developed on a scientific basis
Scientific studies documenting the skin’s essential need for a stable pH level also form the basis for product development: these include, amongst others, dry skin, dermatologically challenged skin such as psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, etc., and also the need for a stable pH level during wound healing. You can read about this here.

pH and the skin
- The skin’s pH plays a crucial role in its condition, appearance and health
- Water, soap and chemicals cause the skin’s pH level to exceed its natural, slightly acidic pH of approximately 5.
- A normal bath alters the skin’s pH to an alkaline level – this disrupts the skin’s protective acid mantle
- Depending on age, gender and skin type, it can take many hours for the skin’s optimal pH to be restored
- Skin with a pH that is too alkaline is often dry, vulnerable, oily/acne-prone or irritated; many skin problems originate from a damaged skin surface
- Scientific studies document the importance of a stabilised pH level in relation to wound healing, as well as in skin conditions and common dermatological disorders such as seborrhoeic dermatitis, psoriasis, rosacea, eczema and acne
The optimal pH of the skin is one of the most important “active ingredients” we can ensure the skin gets. HERO pH solution 02 has the mildest, most simple list of ingredients. It is the combination of these ingredients – in the right amounts and the correct formulation – that stabilises the skin’s pH.
Ingredients: Aqua/water/eau, glycerine (vegetable), pentylene glycol (natural source), pectin, hydroxyacetophenone, citric acid.

What is pH?
pH is a numerical value used to measure the acidity of, for example, water, skincare products and the skin’s surface. On a scale of 0–14, pH values are measured in terms of acidity and alkalinity, where 7 is neutral, anything below 7 is acidic and anything above 7 is alkaline. Balanced skin thrives best at a pH value of around 5, which means that the skin is at its healthiest when it is slightly acidic. The body’s internal environment, on the other hand, functions best around the neutral value of 7.
The pH scale Is your skin’s pH in balance or out of balance?

Why is the skin’s pH important?
The skin’s pH plays a crucial role in the condition and appearance of the skin. Your skin deserves the best possible conditions, and the most important factor in achieving healthy skin is a stable pH level. Changes in pH affect enzyme activity and disrupt the natural cell-regenerating processes that are vital for skin health.
The skin has a fine protective layer on its surface: the acid mantle, which consists of sebum and sweat from the skin’s many microscopic pores. The acid mantle’s primary function is to protect by maintaining an optimal balance of moisture, oil and the skin’s natural bacterial flora. At the same time, it must also protect against harmful external bacteria, fungal infections, UV rays and pollution. In this way, the acid mantle acts as an essential protective barrier and a “knight in shining armour” for the skin’s immune system.
