Our loungewear collection is named after mountains, as we wish to create a subtle invitation to a higher level of wellbeing. For us, mountains symbolise elevation on a physical, spiritual and emotional level.

Who owns Karmameju?
Karmameju was founded in 1999 by Mette Skjærbæk, who today owns Karmameju together with Hanne Vendelin Olesen. Hanne is responsible for Karmameju’s sales. Mette is responsible for our product development and the brand’s direction.

Is Karmameju Danish?
Yes, Karmameju is a Danish skincare brand based in Copenhagen and founded by Mette Skjærbæk.

Does Karmameju contain perfume?
Karmameju uses 100% natural fragrances derived from essential oils in many of its products, but also offers a large fragrance-free range for those who prefer fragrance-free skincare​.

Is Karmameju organic?
Yes, Karmameju uses organic ingredients wherever possible – particularly in base ingredients such as aloe vera and shea butter​

Is Karmameju vegan?
Most Karmameju products are vegan, but we use beeswax and honey in our salt scrubs. It is always clearly stated on the packaging when a product is vegan. Karmameju Skincare is cruelty-free and not tested on animals. Our ethos of safeguarding animal welfare goes hand in hand with EU regulations introduced in 2013, which prohibit the testing of cosmetic ingredients or products on animals.

Why is it called Karmameju?
Karmameju is a combination of ‘karma’ and the first letters of the founders’ names, Mette and Julie. It reflects our holistic philosophy that everything we do comes back to us. We create skincare in harmony with nature and with a belief in humanity’s connection to it.
