Antioxidant Vitamin C smoothie
Mette SkjærbækVitamin C is an important antioxidant that contributes to a healthy immune system and protects your body against bacteria and viruses. Our bodies cannot produce vitamin C themselves, so it is important to obtain it through our diet.
In addition, vitamin C helps to strengthen the skin from within and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. The vitamin combats free radicals and can therefore have a restorative and protective effect on the skin.
This recipe makes approximately ½ litre of smoothie.
Fruit and vegetables can be used either frozen or fresh.
- ¼ red pepper
- 5 portions of frozen spinach
- 1 banana
- The juice of ½ a lemon
- ½ passion fruit

- 3 dl water, coconut water or cold herbal tea*
- 1 tsp linseed oil
- 2 tsp olive oil
+ Optional: anti-inflammatory ginger, chilli or cayenne pepper, if you like a bit of a kick in your smoothie.
NB: Several of these ingredients also contain zinc, which boosts the immune system.
