Mine børn på 8 og 11 år har begge de lækre fleecedragter. De bruger dem om morgenen som morgenkåbe ovenpå nattøjet og trækker ofte i dem efter, at de har været i bad om aftenen, inden de skal sove. I weekenden bor de i dem og gider slet ikke tage rigtigt tøj på. Dragterne holder sig rigtigt pænt efter fleres ganges vask. Vi kommer klart til at købe dem igen, når de vokser ud af dem.

If we all think about how we wash our clothes, we can have a positive impact on the environment. The clothing industry is responsible for a significant amount of pollution, but a surprisingly large share of the responsibility also lies with us as consumers. A remarkably high percentage of the pollution generated during a garment’s life cycle (from production to disposal) occurs in our homes after we have bought the clothes.

6 SIMPLE STEPS TO HELP PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT 

/ Wash less. Outerwear rarely needs washing. Instead, we recommend airing it out and spot-cleaning – two sustainable ways to keep your clothes clean and fresh, whilst also extending their lifespan. Air your clothes outside or by an open window. 

/ Lower the water temperature. The colder the water, the better it is for the environment and the lifespan of your clothes. Wash at a maximum of 30° whenever possible.

/ Minimise the use of the tumble dryer. Only dry clothes in the tumble dryer that really need it. 

/ Use the dry cleaner as little as possible. They use harsh chemicals. Spot-clean and air your clothes instead. Brush suits and coats. 

/ Use eco-friendly detergent. For your health, for your skin and to protect our planet.

/ Protect your clothes when eating and drinking. Spills at the dinner table are the most common cause of stained clothes. Use napkins and remind your children to protect their clothes during meals.
