These terms and conditions are effective from 1 January 2022.

Klub Karmameju is a loyalty programme that allows you, as a member, to choose products and other benefits when you purchase items on karmameju.dk.

Membership of Klub Karmameju

You can join Klub Karmameju completely free of charge at karmameju.dk.

To qualify for free delivery and earn Klub Karmameju products, you must log in when shopping at karmameju.dk. You cannot transfer your Klub Karmameju rewards to others.

When you sign up, you must create a member profile on karmameju.dk, where you must also accept the terms and conditions of Klub Karmameju membership and give your consent for us to create a member profile so that we can tailor offers and other benefits to you.

You must have an email address and be at least 16 years old to join Klub Karmameju.

As a member of Klub Karmameju, you are not eligible for free delivery to the Faroe Islands and Greenland.

Once you have spent 1,200 kr. or more (across one or more purchases), you’ll be eligible to choose a Klub Karmameju product from our selection.

You will be offered a Klub Karmameju product when you join the club, as well as on your birthday, if you have provided us with this information. You can add a Klub Karmameju product to your order when it totals 500 kr. or more.

Adjustment and expiry of your savings

If you need to return a product you have purchased on karmameju.dk, we will deduct the product’s purchase price from your Klub Karmameju savings towards your next Klub Karmameju product.

Your Klub Karmameju balance never expires, but if your profile has been inactive for 2 years, we reserve the right to delete the profile and, consequently, your Klub Karmameju balance and any unredeemed products. We will send you an email before we delete anything, so that you have the opportunity to respond.

If you leave Klub Karmameju, your Klub Karmameju points and any unredeemed Klub Karmameju products will be deleted. 

You can only redeem a Klub Karmameju product once you have spent 1,200 kr. or more and therefore have 1,200 kr. in your Klub Karmameju balance. A Klub Karmameju balance of, for example, 600 kr, or a reduced Klub Karmameju balance following a return, cannot be used to redeem a Klub Karmameju product. A Klub Karmameju balance of, for example, 2,400 kr. does not entitle you to a more valuable Klub Karmameju product, but entitles you solely to redeem two Klub Karmameju products.

We reserve the right to deduct purchases made using special discount codes from your savings

Your Klub Karmameju profile page

As a Klub Karmameju member, you’ll have your own page under ‘My Profile’ on karmameju.dk. You can log in to your profile at any time using your email address and your chosen password. On your page, you can view your order history and see how much more you need to spend (in Danish kroner) to be able to choose a Klub Karmameju product. You can also view and edit your personal details, as well as manage your consent to receive communications from us under the “Settings” section.

How we contact you

When you sign up for Klub Karmameju, you consent, amongst other things, to us contacting you with targeted tips, offers, questionnaires, invitations to competitions and events, as well as information about news and special promotions relating to our product range and membership services.    

We will usually send you emails, but in the future we may also send you text messages.

You decide how much we can communicate with you

You can let us know at any time if you do not wish to receive emails or text messages from us containing marketing material or news from Klub Karmameju. This way, you can decide for yourself how often you want to hear from us and what you want to hear about. You can adjust your preferences under ‘Settings’ on your membership profile.

Changes and cancellation

We reserve the right to change the terms and conditions for earning, expiry and redeeming Klub Karmameju products, as well as to change other membership benefits, including the phasing out and introduction of new benefits. We may also make ongoing changes relating to our processing of your personal data.

Significant changes to Klub Karmameju will be notified in writing to the email address provided, with one month’s notice – it is therefore important that you ensure your contact details are up to date under ‘Settings’ on karmameju.dk. Your membership and Klub Karmameju points will, where applicable, remain active within the specified time frame. If you cannot accept the changes, you must cancel your membership of Klub Karmameju before the changes come into effect.

Non-material changes and changes to your advantage may be implemented without notice.

If you no longer wish to be a member of Klub Karmameju, you can cancel your membership via your profile under ‘Settings’ and ‘Cancel membership’ on karmameju.dk. If you cancel your membership, you will lose the right to redeem any Klub Karmameju products you may have earned or other membership benefits, as these require a valid membership.

Misuse of your membership may result in permanent exclusion from Klub Karmameju and, consequently, the cancellation of your Klub Karmameju points, any Klub Karmameju products you may have earned, and other club benefits. Examples of misuse include: creating multiple profiles for the same person; repeatedly joining and leaving the club with the aim of obtaining a welcome product; cheating with regard to Klub Karmameju points, for example if orders are repeatedly returned but the Klub Karmameju product is retained; theft or attempted theft, or unacceptable behaviour towards Karmameju staff.

Management of your membership

We process your personal data in order to manage your membership of Klub Karmameju, including to provide you with access to your membership benefits and to communicate with you regarding your membership.

For the purposes mentioned above, we process the following information about you:

• The information you provide when you sign up for Klub Karmameju and when you update your profile, including your name, address, email address and telephone number

• Information about your purchases on karmameju.dk, if you are logged in

• Information about your Klub Karmameju points earned and redeemed for Klub Karmameju products, as well as other membership benefits

• Information collected when you communicate with us regarding your membership

The legal basis for our processing is our membership agreement with you, cf. Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation.

When you are logged in as a Klub Karmameju member, we also use the above information to create a personalised experience. The legal basis for our processing is our legitimate interest in providing you with a relevant experience across our channels, cf. Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Targeted marketing and statistics

If you have given us your consent, we process personal data associated with your membership account for the purpose of sending you marketing communications and for profiling, so that we can better tailor our marketing to you.

For the purposes mentioned above, we process the information listed above under the heading ‘Administration of your membership’ as well as the following information:

• Information about which emails you open and click on

• Information about which pages you visit on karmameju.dk when you are logged in, and which products you click on and add to your basket

• Other information you provide to us in connection with your membership, e.g. information about your gender and, in the long term, your interests, children and information about your skin, hair and product preferences

• Information about competitions in which you take part

• Product reviews that you submit to Karmameju

• Information collected via cookies to the extent that you have specifically consented to our use of cookies

The legal basis for our processing is your consent, cf. Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Regardless of whether you withdraw your consent to marketing, we will use all your information for internal statistics for as long as you are a member of Klub Karmameju, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation. The purpose of this is to develop and improve Karmameju’s products and services.

Participation in competitions

We process the personal data you provide to us in connection with your participation in our competitions for the purpose of communicating with you and to be able to send you any prizes.

The legal basis for our processing of your data is our legitimate interest in being able to run the competition, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Suspected misuse

In the event of specific suspicion of misuse of the Klub Karmameju membership, the above information may also be used to investigate any irregularities with the aim of protecting Karmameju’s interests. Our legal basis for processing your data for this purpose is our legitimate interest in preventing and detecting irregularities that may result in a loss to us, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Retention, cancellation and deletion:

We will retain your data for as long as you are a member of Klub Karmameju. Upon cancellation of your Klub Karmameju membership, you will be immediately blocked in our system and will no longer receive any Klub Karmameju communications from us. However, we will not delete your membership and your data until 30 days after you have cancelled your membership of Klub Karmameju, so that we can, for example, assist you if you cancelled by mistake. If your data, or part thereof, is used in a pending legal case, the data necessary for this processing will, however, only be deleted once the case has been concluded. We retain the personal data included on invoices issued to you in connection with purchases on karmameju.dk for 5 years following your purchase.

External partners:

Your data is shared with external partners who process the data on our behalf. We use external partners for, amongst other things, the technical operation of systems and the development and improvement of Klub Karmameju, the sending of newsletters, and targeted marketing, including retargeting. These companies are data processors and process personal data in accordance with our instructions, for which we are the data controllers. Data processors are not permitted to use the information for any purpose other than fulfilling their agreement with us, and must treat the information confidentially. We have entered into written data processing agreements with our data processors who process personal data on our behalf.

Where we use data processors established outside the EU/EEA, this will always be done in accordance with valid transfer safeguards in the form of the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, cf. Article 46 of the General Data Protection Regulation. If you would like a copy of the Standard Contractual Clauses, please feel free to contact us.

Your rights

You always have the right to access the information we hold about you, and you may always ask us to correct or delete your information if it is incorrect, incomplete or irrelevant. In that case, please contact Karmameju’s customer service at customerservice@karmameju.com. This is also where you should contact us if you wish to exercise your right to have your data transferred to you (data portability), if you wish to exercise your right to restrict the processing of your data to storage only, or if you wish to object to our processing of your data for marketing purposes. Please note that if you ask us to delete your data, this will result in you being removed from Klub Karmameju.

You can also correct your personal details yourself at any time via your personal profile on karmameju.dk.

You may withdraw any consent you have given us to process your personal data at any time by unsubscribing from Klub Karmameju, or via the ‘Settings’ section on karmameju.dk.

If you choose to withdraw your consent, this will not affect the lawfulness of our processing of your personal data based on your previously given consent and up to the time of withdrawal. If you withdraw your consent, it will therefore only take effect from that point onwards.
