At Karmameju SUN, we use physical, mineral sun filters. Our green values and approach to natural skincare make physical filters the obvious and only right choice of sun filter in Karmameju’s products.

Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are physical sunscreens consisting of minerals extracted from the earth. Karmameju SUN uses the mineral titanium dioxide.

Physical sunscreens protect against the sun’s UV rays by forming a film on the skin’s surface that reflects UV rays away from the skin – it acts as a natural, physical barrier between the skin and sunlight.

The difference between physical, chemical and nano sunscreens

There are two other types of sun filters that skincare manufacturers can use: chemical sun filters and nano-based sun filters. These are not used in Karmameju SUN. You can read about the differences between the three types of sun filters here

 

 

The rationale behind launching Karmameju SUN

Physical sunscreens are known for being difficult to apply and for leaving a very visible white cast on the skin. Avoiding this was a prerequisite for launching KarmamejuSUN.

In collaboration with our award-winning organic farm and laboratory in southern Italy, we have spent several years working to solve this challenge. The aim was to make physical sunscreens a real pleasure to use.

 

The carefully formulated blends of organic ingredients in Karmameju SUN provide broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection. It is pure, natural and effective skincare and sun cream in a single tube. The sun creams revitalise and nourish; they smell heavenly and leave the skin moisturised and sun-kissed.

 

 

 

Tested at two independent European laboratories

Sunscreens are functional products whose primary purpose is to protect against UV radiation. That is why the suncare range has been SPF- and UVA/UVB-tested not just at one laboratory, as required by law, but at two independent European laboratories – for Karmameju’s explicit confirmation and assurance – and for the consumer’s peace of mind.

 

Get the best results with mineral sun filters

Well-cared-for skin will always benefit most from skincare products, as skin with a dry and rough surface finds it harder to absorb the nourishing and stimulating ingredients from the products applied. We therefore recommend exfoliating or dry-brushing the skin regularly before sun exposure, and we recommend moisturising the skin with Karmameju PRE & AFTER SUN before applying Karmameju SUN sun protection products.
