Karmamejus mineralske solcreme

Karmameju’s approach to holistic skincare makes mineral – also known as physical – sunscreens the only right choice in the SUN range. Mineral sunscreens consist of naturally occurring minerals from the earth, which melt and settle on the skin’s surface as a sun-protective shield that reflects UV rays away from the skin.

The benefits of natural mineral sunscreens, also known as physical UV filters, are many: amongst other things, they are gentle and do not penetrate the skin, and are therefore less likely to irritate the skin, causing conditions such as sun rash.

However, mineral sunscreens are often known for being difficult to spread and for leaving a whitish cast – KARMAMEJU SUN does not do this. The formula is transparent, light on the skin and easy to apply.

If you do have a mineral sun cream that’s difficult to spread, you can make application easier by remembering two things in particular before applying it...

Tips til brug af mineralsk solcreme

1. The mineral pigments need to be ‘melted into the skin’ by rubbing them in well with warm hands to become transparent: try warming the sun cream between your hands before applying it to your body or face. We recommend applying the sun cream in two stages so that you work the product in well and cover your whole body.

2. Dry skin and mineral pigments don’t always get on well. If you have dry skin, a “greyish” tinge will be visible on the skin. That’s why well-moisturised and exfoliated skin is beneficial if you want to use mineral-based sun cream.

Dry brushing removes dry skin, so it’s a perfect skincare ritual to prioritise during sun cream season – and indeed, all year round. Exfoliation with a body scrub is another great way to prepare your skin.

You can achieve thoroughly moisturised skin using either body lotion, body oil or our PRE & AFTER SUN range. The high antioxidant content helps to strengthen the skin’s defences before sun exposure, whilst bioactive ingredients such as aloe vera moisturise, repair and soothe the skin after sun exposure.

Extra tip: Remember to use common sense in the sun

Use the UV index and your common sense when applying sun cream to yourself and your children.

Ideally, sun cream should be reapplied every two hours if you’re in direct sunlight, or more frequently if you’re swimming, drying yourself with a towel or sweating heavily. And we also recommend taking a siesta: take a break from the sun and enjoy a refreshing smoothie when the sun is at its highest between 12 noon and 3 pm.

Karmameju SUN

Karmameju SUN is created without compromise using natural ingredients, free from silicone and chemical sun filters. We have developed a mineral sun cream 2.0 (in 2025) that glides on easily and effortlessly – without the white cast often associated with mineral sun cream.

Enjoy the sun and happy applying!
