Wake your skin from winter hibernation by updating your skincare routine

The bright, new season is the perfect opportunity to update and rethink your skincare routine. Feel free to stick to your usual rituals, but reconsider the individual steps to adapt to the sunnier days and higher humidity. Here are our top tips for welcoming spring onto your skincare shelf.

Spring cleaning of the skincare shelf

- Give your skincare shelf a spring clean. Clean your brushes, check the expiry dates on all your products, wipe down bottles and jars, and make room for change and new beginnings. You might want to use a soap-free shampoo or TINY dry brush cleanser to clean your brushes.

- Perhaps you could do the same with your wardrobe? The skin’s ‘second layer’. Pass on any clothes that no longer feel comfortable against your skin, or that don’t make you feel at ease.

- Air out your home daily, shake out your duvets, blankets and pillows – make room for new, fresh energy.

- Remove dry, dead winter skin with daily dry brushing, weekly exfoliating scrubs and a peeling face mask and foot cream to help reveal healthy, radiant spring skin.

Ansigtsrens - og udrensning

- Cleanse your skin thoroughly or try double-cleansing after using sun cream. This helps prevent clogged pores after lovely days in the sun with your essential sun protection. Try MUSE cleansing balm, a balancing, oil-based cleanser with softening plant oils, or DAZE cleansing lotion, a gentle, soothing cleansing milk with nourishing and moisturising properties. Both are ideal for daily cleansing.

- Get your body moving with exercise that gets your heart rate up and makes you break a sweat. It could be running or dancing – your body loves any form of movement. Exercise helps to boost circulation and gives you a healthy glow. At the same time, your skin’s pores open up when you sweat – which naturally flushes out waste products and removes dirt and sebum. It’s almost like a mini cleansing facial. Find more inspiration in our article DO YOU move?

- As the temperature rises, oil production in the skin also increases for many people. That’s why not everyone needs skincare that’s as nourishing as in winter. Switch to a lighter cream or take a summer break from facial oil. Check in with your skin before deciding on your daily skincare routine.

- Enjoy the light! It’s so important for our mental wellbeing. Every now and then, leave your sunglasses at home and let that life-giving light reach your retinas. Read more in our article Why daylight is so important for you.

- Keep your face mist close at hand to help your skin retain moisture and cool it down comfortably.
